Golden Hour Ceremonies: Why Timing Is Everything

There is a reason photographers talk about golden hour. In the last hour before sunset the light turns soft and warm, flattering every face and making even simple décor glow.

To plan around it, check the sunset time for your date and location, then work backwards: allow twenty to thirty minutes for the ceremony and leave time for portraits while the light is still low. Pampas grass, candles and natural linens all look their best in this warm light.

Keep a backup plan for cloudy days, and brief your planner so the timeline can shift by a few minutes if the sky puts on a show.
